FADE IN:

INT. THE DEN - BOURBON BAR

A beautiful young woman, SYLVANE sits at the bar with a PACK OF GUYS. SLATE, an animal of a man, stands beside her.

Sylvane lifts a glass of bourbon to her lips.

Slate yanks it from her hand. Tosses it back in one swig.

SYLVANE

That was the good stuff, you know. For sipping.

Slate sneers at Sylvane and motions as if to take a bite at her face. His pack of friends howl with laughter.

Across the bar, hidden in the shadows holding a tray of dirty dishes is a timid young man, TOMMY. He wears a white t-shirt, blue-jeans and black shoes. He eyes the scene at the bar warily.

Slate catches him staring and with preternatural speed leaps, pinning him against the wall.

SLATE

What are you gawking at, flesh bag?

Tommy says nothing.

SLATE

That’s right, human. Better bite your tongue… before someone else bites it for you.

Slate shoves Tommy to the floor. The dishes crash and break all around him.

Slate motions for his pack to leave, grabs Sylvane by the arm.

She looks back over her shoulder at Tommy.  For a moment, their eyes connect.

Slate yanks her out the door.
